Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an illustration cost?
The price of any illustration project varies according to the size, scope, complexity, and usage rights requested. Packages for businesses have a separate pricing structure from projects for personal use (i.e. weddings, birthdays, etc.) Contact me to tell me more about what you have in mind.
How are payments made?
A 50% deposit of the design fee is required to begin any work on a project. Once the final artwork is complete, the balance is due, and I will send you your completed image.
What’s the process of developing an illustration?
Once a you decide to move forward with a project, I consult with you to discuss your particular needs and to develop the essence of your illustration. I’ll send you sketches based on our consult, and once you approve them, I’ll move forward to create your final, full-color image. Images are delivered electronically or as hard copies, depending on your needs.
What do you mean by ‘rights’?
Rights refer to the permissions you have to reproduce and use an illustration. As a creator, the illustrator holds all copyright to works produced, but can grant you exclusive rights to use the image in print, online, or on retail products. The price of reproduction rights vary according to use.
How long does a project take?
An illustration project can take anywhere from four to six weeks. A rush fee is required for quicker turn-around times.
